What is Outside and Instant Photography’s Pop up studio day and how is it different from a photo shoot or studio session?
We are family photographers from Gosport, Hampshire. We provide a mobile studio, setting up at family friendly venues such as children’s play cafes and indoor play centres in and around Hampshire. We set up our Pop Up Studio for the day bringing with us everything we need to capture great images of your little ones.
We originally started our Pop up studios four years ago in Gosport providing easy access to professional quality #childrensphotography. Every year we have grown and added more venues including Sweet Peas Play Café, Fareham, The Ruby Play Café, Camberley and The Arlebury, Alresford.
Our #Popupstudio set up includes backdrop and lighting, taking beautiful photographs of your children. We often theme our pop up’s depending on the time of year and bring appropriate props for the children to enjoy. No green screen involved! The props as well as our friendly photographer keep the children engaged. Each session is approximately 10-15 minutes per child/sibling group. We find this the perfect amount of time particularly for the younger children who just want to get in and play.
Christmas is our busiest time of year for pop up studio’s and our printed gifts make great presents for your loved ones. We love our springtime shoots for Mother’s Day, Easter, Father’s day and last year we did our first pumpkin patch themed Halloween pop up studio.
These photos are edited in camera and images can be viewed and purchased straight away. There is no charge for the photo shoot (although the host venue fees still apply, please check each venue for details) you just pay for the prints you wish to purchase.
We have printing services available onsite for prints and printed gifts. This means you can take your order home with you on the day, no waiting for the post to arrive. We take both cash and card payments. If you require a longer photo shoot time, additional editing or your own online gallery to view images at a later date, booking a photo shoot would be for you.
Due to the pop up nature you do not need to book a time slot with us (although you may need to pre book a session with the host venue) If we are particularly busy on the day we will hand out tickets so you don’t miss your turn or wait long for a shoot.
We are planning new pop up studios for the end of 2020 and putting in extra measures with the current COVID19 restrictions. We have a new backdrop idea as well as some favourites. Please follow our social media for news and dates. We look forward to seeing you and your little ones soon.

Have had 2 photos done now at pop up events one last year and one recently, and each time James has been patient and got my boy to smile and laugh, both photos were super cute and used as Christmas cards!! Rachel
Had my baby girls photo taken at the Wendy house cafe on Sunday, so happy with the keyring and photo (went in a home decorated frame as a Christmas present). It was very busy in there, luckily I was near the front of the queue but would’ve been worth a longer wait. Only having to pay for the products I wanted, all done there and then, no need to wait for products & great prices!! Jamie
